At the recent LACMA Arts and Film Gala, Kim Kardashian brought retro elegance to life with a playful Betty Boop-inspired bob and a dazzling piece of royal history: Princess Diana’s iconic pendant. The event, held on November 2 in Los Angeles and sponsored by Gucci, saw Kardashian in a flirty white gown by the designer, complemented by jewels and a hairstyle that has everyone talking.
Styled by celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, Kardashian’s bob channeled Betty Boop’s classic look, with a voluminous flip and a signature curl resting on her forehead. Appleton used Bellami extensions cut to shoulder length and meticulously curled each strand to get that bouncy, retro effect. To secure the style, he used plenty of hairspray to maintain volume and shape.

Kardashian completed her look with a piece of royal nostalgia—Princess Diana’s pendant, layered on a pearl choker for a modern twist. Diana famously wore the Garrard pendant in 1987, and seeing it paired with Kardashian’s retro bob added a unique blend of royal and vintage Hollywood glamour to the night.
Celebrity makeup artist Rokael Lizama handled Kardashian’s glam, opting for a winged smoky eye, pink blush, and a soft nude lip using SKKN by Kim’s Silk Matte Lip Color in shade 02.
First Jessica Rabbit red, now a Betty Boop bob—it’s clear that Kim’s character-inspired hair is having a moment. Could this be her most playful look yet? Only time will tell what Kardashian tries next, but for now, this blend of old-school glamour and iconic jewelry is setting a high bar for fall fashion.
