If you thought wedding guest fashion was reserved for weekends, Toke Makinwa is here to prove otherwise.

The media personality stepped out in a stunning peach and bronze ensemble that perfectly captures the new wave of Nigerian occasion dressing, where weekday weddings, milestone celebrations, and glamorous events demand just as much style as Saturday ceremonies.

Toke’s look is a lesson in balancing traditional elegance with contemporary sophistication.

The outfit features an off-the-shoulder mermaid gown in a soft peach hue, designed with a sweetheart neckline and beautifully textured floral appliqués that drape delicately across the shoulders. The fitted bodice is elevated by a basket-weave-inspired central panel in a warm sandy-gold tone, framed by shimmering sequins that contour the silhouette before flowing into a dramatic fishtail skirt.

The lower half of the gown is just as captivating. Intricate beadwork, sequins, and matching floral embroidery decorate the flared hem, while an asymmetrical finish subtly reveals a pair of metallic strappy sandals embellished with delicate jewel details.

No Nigerian traditional look is complete without a statement gele, and Toke certainly delivered. She paired the gown with a sculptural metallic bronze gele, expertly pleated into a voluminous crown that added height, structure, and undeniable regal energy to the entire outfit.

Rather than overwhelm the look with accessories, she kept things refined. A classic diamond tennis necklace, gold bracelets, and understated jewellery allowed the craftsmanship of the outfit to remain the focal point.

Her beauty look complemented the warm palette effortlessly. Soft bronze eyeshadow, sculpted cheeks, glossy nude lips, and flawless glowing skin enhanced the richness of the peach and bronze tones, while her neatly styled hairline ensured the dramatic gele remained the star.

Toke Makinwa has long established herself as one of Nigeria’s most consistent style stars, particularly when it comes to occasion dressing. Whether she’s attending weddings, award ceremonies, or red carpet events, she continues to deliver looks that feel glamorous without sacrificing elegance
