A$AP Rocky Faces Trial for Assault with a Firearm

A Los Angeles judge ruled that there is enough evidence for rapper A$AP Rocky, also known as Rakim Mayers, to stand trial on two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The charges stem from an incident outside a Hollywood hotel in 2021, where A$AP Rocky is accused of firing a gun at his former friend and collaborator, A$AP Relli. The judge made the ruling after a preliminary hearing, emphasizing that the evidence standard for preliminary hearings is much lower than that required for criminal guilt.

A$AP Rocky, who pleaded not guilty, showed no visible reaction in court.
