A$AP Rocky has entered a not guilty plea after a judge ruled there was enough evidence for him to stand trial for alleged involvement in a 2021 incident with his former friend, A$AP Relli. Rocky is accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun at Relli during the altercation.
Defense attorney Joe Tacopina reported that Rocky, also known as Rakim Mayers, is calm as he faces trial and is eager to conclude the legal proceedings so he can focus on enjoying time with his family, including Rihanna and their two sons.
Rocky, 35, pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a firearm in August 2022. The next hearing is scheduled for March 6.
During a November hearing, new surveillance footage was presented, revealing two loud pops believed to be gunshots. However, the gun was not recovered, and shell casings had no fingerprints. Relli claims he was struck by bullet fragments during the altercation.
Relli filed a civil suit against Rocky for assault, battery, and emotional distress, seeking over $25,000 in general damages, additional funds for medical bills, and unspecified punitive damages. Rocky has denied all claims, and his defense argues that any damages were caused by the actions of others.
