This is the perfect time for the Denim style: the global market has been flooded by a bevy of labels doing distinct, cool takes on the classic all-American blue jean. Some are focused on innovating the material, such as I.J. Kim, who comes from a background in mechanical engineering; other brands, such as M.i.h, are focused on creating sustainable, low-impact versions. No matter your preference, it’s safe to say the craze has come to an all-time head. And now Bella Hadid is taking the movement even further.
Hadid was spotted leaving Michael Kors’s Fall 2019 show during New York Fashion Week. After walking the runway, she emerged on the street carrying a denim-covered handbag by the label, complete with frayed edges and leather details. It was a style depict of the Louis Vuitton patchwork bag that was all the rage in the early 2000s. Given the saturation of the denim market, it is only a matter of time before it re-enters the accessories world.
