Bella Okagbue didn’t just wear black to Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus’ white wedding. She turned it into a full-blown fashion entrance.
The standout piece was a sheer black fishnet gown by Dorhann by Hannah, but the real personality of the look came from the oversized feather boa draped around her arms.
The gown itself had a sleek, fitted shape with a high halter neckline and beaded detailing placed around the neck and waist. Its floor-length silhouette kept things elegant, while the sheer construction gave the classic black gown a much more daring finish.
Then the feathers arrived.
The dramatic boa brought softness and volume to the fitted dress, spilling down towards the floor and creating movement around Bella as she posed. It had a little old-Hollywood glamour, but the styling felt far more modern than a traditional red-carpet interpretation.
She finished the look with a tiny gold crystal bag, gold earrings and a sleek updo that kept attention on the neckline and feathers.
It’s a good example of why accessories can completely change the mood of an outfit. Without the boa, Bella’s gown would still have been striking. With it, the look became theatrical.
And sometimes, especially at a big Nigerian wedding, theatrics are exactly what the outfit needs.
Bella didn’t need a louder dress. She just needed the feathers.
