The end of the summer brings with it a very specific problem: what the hell do we wear when it’s not cold enough for coats, but it’s too chilly for bare arms? The simple answer, is a blazer. They may not be anything new or trending (anyone for neon?), but they reign supreme as the classic wardrobe staple to call on between September and November.
As well as offering up the extra warmth we need, they’re a bona fide fashion chameleon – for what goes with jeans, shirts, skirts and everything in between quite as uniformly as a blazer? Nothing – that’s what.
In fact, I reckon they could see us through any occasion this season has to throw at us. Fancy work meeting? Pair it with a smart shirt and tailored trousers. Casual weekend? Throw it over a T-shirt, jeans and trainers. Relaxed day in the office? Layer it over your favourite midi dress and boots.
