Burna Boy Honored with Official Day, March 2nd, in Boston

Since his rise to international stardom, Burna Boy has been a key figure in promoting African music globally, thanks to his unique blend of genres and captivating performances.

Adding to his list of achievements, Burna Boy has now been honored by the City of Boston, which has declared March 2nd as Burna Boy Day. This marks the first celebration of this official day, as announced by Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune.

The city’s recognition of Burna Boy’s contributions extends beyond his music, acknowledging his efforts in advancing African culture, advocacy, and inspiring conversations about social justice, representation, and equality.

This declaration also highlights the significant contributions of Nigerians, the largest African immigrant community in the United States and Massachusetts, to the cultural diversity of the nation.

Burna Boy now joins the ranks of Wizkid and Davido, fellow Nigerian musicians who have also been honored with their official days in the United States.
