So, here’s what went down: England’s Lionesses just made history again, and guess who helped them celebrate outside Buckingham Palace? None other than Odogwu himself—Burna Boy.

Burna Boy
Burna Boy performs as England manager Sarina Wiegman and players celebrate on stage during a Homecoming Victory Parade on the Mall, on July 29, 2025 in London, England.

Fresh off their European Championship win (yep, that’s back-to-back titles), the women’s team was in full celebration mode. Open-top bus? Check. 10 Downing Street handshake? Check. Surprise superstar appearance from Nigeria’s finest? Oh yes.

The moment was pure chaos in the best way. England’s head coach, Sarina Wiegman, was on stage soaking in the crowd love when former player Alex Scott dropped the mic moment:
“Three years ago, you said the music wasn’t right. But today, your fave is here. Everybody, give it up for… Burna Boy!”

And just like that, Burna Boy sauntered out, smooth as ever, and Wiegman lost it. Not a polite clap. Not a nod. She screamed. Because when your Spotify Wrapped top artist shows up unannounced to sing “For My Hand” to you outside the Palace, what else are you supposed to do?

Wiegman and Burna Boy even danced together—yes, actual shoulder work—while the Lionesses looked like they’d just won a second trophy.

It was peak London energy meets Nigerian excellence, and for a moment, the whole world felt like one big after-party. If this is how we’re doing victory laps now, please count us in.
