Chanel presents her wedding dress on a horse for the Spring/Summer 2021 haute couture show

To present her Chanel haute couture spring-summer 2021 show, Virginie Viard once again took over the Grand Palais … privatizing it or almost in view of the health context linked to Covid-19.

Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp and Alma Jodorowsky … Only these faithful of the French house were present at the front row of this unique parade. “ I knew that we couldn’t organize a big parade, that we would have to invent something else, so I had the idea of a small procession that would come down the stairs of the Grand Palais and pass under arches of flowers. Like a family celebration, a wedding… ”, explains Virginie Viard with regard to the desired atmosphere and scenography.

Runway for dreamy wedding dress

Marriage question, the Chanel wedding dress was, once is not custom, the long awaited moment of the parade presented on January 26, 2021. Perched on a white horse, the bride appeared to close this show on the Grand runway Palace. Once descended from this handsome stallion, the model unveiled a wedding dress inspired by photographs of the 20s with a shiny veil as well as a long dress with an off-neck collar and shirt cuffs embroidered with rhinestone and pearl butterflies by Lesage. A dreamlike result captured shortly before by photographer Anton Corbjin in the Haute Couture Salons of the house at 31 rue Cambon.
