Chike’s Releases Colorful Video of Hit Song “Egwu” Paying Tribute to Mohbad

Chike’s hit song “Egwu” has been making waves since its late 2023 release, soaring to the top of the TurnTable Top 100 chart.

The music video for “Egwu,” released on February 28, 2024, marks Chike’s first offering of the year. Directed by cinematographer Pink, the video features vibrant visuals that capture the joyful essence of the music, while also paying tribute to the late Street pop sensation Mohbad.

Filmed in Lagos, the video showcases the city’s lively atmosphere, with market women, school children, artisans, and dancers coming together in a colorful dance routine that perfectly complements the song’s celebratory message.

The video also includes touching imagery of Mohbad, symbolically looking down on the city as his music continues to spread joy.

“Egwu” follows Chike’s 2023 release “Ego Oyibo” as he gears up for the release of his third album, showcasing his continued growth and artistic evolution.
