If there’s one thing Lagos never misses, it’s a premiere. For the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, the city delivered another masterclass in fashion equal parts theatrical, polished and deeply intentional.
There’s a rhythm to Nigerian premieres now. A standard. Every red carpet feels like a visual conversation, something to study, something to admire, something that lingers. This one was no different. Even Miranda Priestly might have paused.
On hosting duties, Stephanie Coker leaned into structure and contrast with a standout look from Fruché. The floor-length coat dress balanced a stark white panel against deep satin black, cut with precision. Sharp lapels framed a plunging neckline, while a sculptural bow cinched the waist equal parts control and drama.
Then came the shift. Pointed neon green heels cut through the monochrome, adding a jolt of color that reframed the entire look. A quilted mini bag in deep green followed, finished with a delicate diamond-link necklace that sat quietly at the collarbone.
Her caption said it all:
“Miranda Priestly would look up from her desk, say nothing, and that would be enough… The shoes? Also, Miranda approved.”
Beyond the host, the guest list held its own. Akin Faminu and Idia Aisien arrived in looks that matched the night’s tone considered, elevated and camera-ready without trying too hard.
Because that’s the thing about Lagos premieres right now, they don’t chase fashion moments, they create them.
