If Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has one mission every Sunday night, it’s this: to make Big Brother Naija feel like a fashion event in its own right. And last night, he did exactly that with a look that doubled as a tribute.

Tapping into the retro energy of the 1970s, Ebuka stepped out in a sky-blue monochromatic set that felt equal parts nostalgic and razor-sharp. The zip-front shirt (left nonchalantly undone) and wide-leg trousers were anchored with a black leather belt, creating a silhouette that Sonny Okosun himself might have worn at the height of his career. Accessories sealed the story: a sequinned headband, dark sunglasses, and subtle flashes of gold. It was retro, but never costume-y — instead, it landed as a fresh homage to the late legend.

Okosun, whose work stretched across reggae, funk, highlife, and gospel, was more than a musician; he was a Pan-African voice who used art as protest, singing in at least six languages. And Ebuka’s styling choice? A timely nod to that spirit of boldness, right when the BBNaija house is at its tensest.

After Saturday’s surprise double eviction, the live show carried a sense of unpredictability. Who’s next to leave? With Ebuka channelling an artist who never shied away from shaking things up, it almost felt like a sartorial warning: expect the unexpected.
