Renowned fine art photographer Orisakwe Emmanuel Chizitere will present his highly anticipated solo exhibition, Where Light Remembers, at RELE Gallery, Ikoyi, Lagos, from April 12–15, 2024.
Bringing together a compelling collection of photographic works, Where Light Remembers explores the enduring relationship between light, memory, identity, and human experience. Through carefully crafted imagery, Chizitere invites viewers into contemplative spaces where photographs become vessels of remembrance, capturing emotions, moments, and narratives that transcend time.
Drawing on the transformative power of light as both subject and metaphor, the exhibition examines how memories are preserved, altered, and illuminated through visual storytelling. Each photograph serves as a reflection on presence and absence, encouraging audiences to engage with the subtle connections between personal histories and collective experiences.
Known for his evocative fine art photography and thoughtful visual narratives, Chizitere has established a distinctive voice within the contemporary photography landscape. His work often blends artistic sensitivity with emotional depth, creating images that resonate long after they are viewed.
“Where Light Remembers is an exploration of the silent dialogue between light and memory,” says Chizitere. “Photography allows us to hold onto fleeting moments, transforming them into lasting reflections of who we are and where we come from.”
Hosted by RELE Gallery, one of Nigeria’s foremost contemporary art spaces, the exhibition is expected to attract collectors, photography enthusiasts, curators, cultural stakeholders, and members of the creative community eager to experience Chizitere’s latest body of work.
