THE TEAR DROP
When it comes to the classic round basket or woven carryall, the teardrop shape has resurfaced in fresh colors and textures. From Hayward and Manu Atelier’s of the moment animal prints to Mansur Gavriel’s practical color palette of leathers, these bags looked especially chic in Paris, but can be worn anywhere and everywhere.
NOT YOUR GRANDMOTHER’S
Fixing your makeup on the fly has never been easier, now that these vintage powder boxes turned handbags (complete with mini mirrors!) are available from Staud and Victoria Beckham. Meanwhile, the pretty printed doctor bags from Attico in Milan and the suede and satin clasp closure bags from Mark Cross feel like they might have been plucked from your grandmother’s house in the best way. Nostalgia is certainly trending.
Croc-embossed bags, a big look for fall, have returned this spring, though in a range of more seasonally appropriate pastel hues. From the Medea sisters’ sweet pink mini shopper to Wandler’s tart baby blue top handle, the women of Stockholm were seen donning some serious arm candy.
CANDY-COATED CROC
THE MICRO DUFFLE
Micro duffles are proof that any silhouette can be made in miniature form. Street style stars carried versions with polka-dot print, though those cylindrical-shaped styles come in solid leather and wicker basket, too.
MARBLED ACRYLIC
Hard box bags are no longer reserved for red carpets or black-tie events. This season, top handles appeared on more practical acrylic items, giving the once formal, lipstick-only clutch a new everyday purpose, suitable for the streets of Copenhagen and beyond.
