it’s safe to say that H&M has teamed up with some pretty major names in designer fashion over the years… but this year’s offering might just be the high street stalwart’s most epic yet.
H&M’s next designer collaboration is with none other than Giambattista Valli, the Paris-based master of beauty and sophistication that practically every A-lister has turned to for his deliciously frothy gowns and ethereal cocktail dresses.
TULLE
Giambattista’s signature look is dream-like layers upon layers of delicious, frothy tulle, and just a brief glance at the collaboration look book suggests there have been no corners cut. Who said high street can’t do #extra like the very best of couture?
FUN EMBROIDERY
Feminine touches can be found throughout this collection, with intricate, pretty embroidery adorning almost every piece. The incredible lapel detail on this jacket s just a taster of things to come.
OTT SHOULDERS
It’s not just the skirts that feature cascading layers of froth, but sleeves, too. Forget shoulder pads, party season this year will see our necklines and upper arms adorned with softer accents that pack a real punch.
SHAMELESSLY PUNCHY COLOURS
Naturally, a lot of Giambattista’s H&M offering will require a pair of sunglasses. Known for his ability to balance both the pastel and punchy ends of the colour spectrum, we’re predicting his red pieces will sell out as soon as the collection drops.
FLORAL DETAILS
Again with the feminine touches, we’re seeing a lot of this elegant, almost bridal-like floral embroidery across the new line. In fact, brides-to-be look alert. This white, full-skirted number would not look out of place sashaying down an aisle. Just saying.
“I am excited about this collaboration: H&M gives me the opportunity to bring my vision of style and my celebration of beauty to a wider audience. The goal is to share my love for beauty and to be able to be part of everyone’s “happy moments”, to help create love stories all around the world”, said Giambattista Valli.
