Joe Jonas’ Cannes Look Sparks Hilarious Comparisons to KFC’s Colonel Sanders (and He’s Loving It!)

The 34-year-old singer has been turning heads with his fashion choices lately, so it’s no surprise he got an invite to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. But it was his all-white Lanvin outfit at the Thursday, May 23 amfAR Gala that really got people talking—and laughing.

Joe’s ensemble was undoubtedly stylish, featuring a double-breasted relaxed jacket with large patch pockets, matching pants in Australian wool, and a slim-fit cotton poplin shirt. However, fans couldn’t help but notice a striking resemblance to a certain fast food icon: Colonel Sanders, the founder and mascot of KFC.

A fan account dedicated to the Jonas Brothers shared a side-by-side comparison of Joe and Colonel Sanders. The post had Sanders in his signature white double-breasted suit and black Western bow tie, right next to Joe rocking a similar getup. The caption humorously asked, “Who wore it better? (Love you Joe).”

And guess what? Joe Jonas, ever the good sport, re-shared the fan post to his Instagram Stories, showing he’s all for a good laugh.

At the gala, which raises money for AIDS research, Joe wasn’t just making fashion statements. He also joined his younger brother Nick Jonas on stage for a surprise performance. Nick, who was scheduled to perform, invited Joe up with the call, “Joe, where you at?”

In a video shared by Diplo on Instagram, Joe can be seen grabbing a microphone from Diplo and heading to the stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Joe Jonas!” Nick cheered as his brother joined him for a lively rendition of DNCE’s hit “Cake By The Ocean.”

Nick, 31, also kept it stylish in a cream suit jacket, white shirt, and black pants, echoing Joe’s look. The brothers’ on-stage chemistry was palpable, and at one point, Nick even joked, “This looks exactly like a Jonas Brothers concert,” as the crowd danced and sang along.

Before Joe’s surprise appearance, Nick entertained the audience with his 2014 hit “Jealous” and a rendition of Frankie Valli’s classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
