Atlanta rapper Killer Mike has spoken out following an incident at the 2024 Grammys where he was handcuffed and questioned by police.
The altercation occurred after Killer Mike won three Grammy awards during the pre-telecast ceremony. In a video shared on X by The Hollywood Reporter’s Chris Gardner, the musician was seen being escorted out of Crypto.com Arena by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD confirmed on X that an adult male involved in a physical altercation at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court was placed under arrest and transported to LAPD Central Division.
Addressing the incident, Killer Mike released a statement expressing confidence that he will be cleared of any wrongdoing. He acknowledged the confusion around entering the venue and described encountering an overzealous security guard.
Despite the incident, Killer Mike expressed gratitude for the concern and support from fans and colleagues. He also shared personal news of his son finally finding a kidney match, bringing elation to his family.
