For some stars, the Oscars red carpet is the perfect opportunity to experiment with bold fashion risks. But for lovebirds Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, the 98th Academy Awards in Los Angeles was all about leaning into their signature styles and it worked.
Although the couple arrived separately, Jenner gave fans an early preview of her look on Instagram before stepping onto the red carpet. The beauty mogul channelled classic bombshell energy in a fiery red gown by Schiaparelli, designed by Daniel Roseberry. The reflective lurex fabric clung closely to her figure, creating a dramatic curve-skimming silhouette reminiscent of the iconic animated character Jessica Rabbit.
The body-conscious silhouette has become something of a Jenner signature when supporting Chalamet throughout the past two awards seasons. The gown’s keyhole cutout at the bust also echoed a familiar design detail, Jenner wore a similar dress, though in pale pink, to a Schiaparelli couture show in 2023. She completed her Oscars look with sparkling diamonds from Lorraine Schwartz and softly tousled waves.
Chalamet, nominated for his role in Marty Supreme, kept his awards season fashion streak alive with relaxed tailoring. The actor stepped out in an all-white three-piece suit by Givenchy, designed by Sarah Burton. The intentionally oversized suit, paired with white boots and sleek black glasses, mirrored the roomy silhouettes he has been embracing throughout the awards circuit.
Givenchy has become something of a red carpet staple for Chalamet lately, appearing at major events including the BAFTA Awards and the Critics’ Choice Awards, as well as during promotional premieres for Marty Supreme.
As the saying goes, if it isn’t broken, there’s no need to fix it. For Jenner and Chalamet, sticking to their signature style formulas continues to deliver red carpet success.
