Mercy Aigbe Stuns in an Inspired Look at Colours of Fire Premiere

If there’s one thing Mercy Aigbe will always do, it’s show up and show out. From owambes to weddings, red carpets to film premieres, the Nollywood star has built a fashion reputation rooted in intention, drama, and undeniable presence.

So when she arrived at the Lagos premiere of Colours of Fire, it felt less like a surprise and more like confirmation. Aigbe, who stars as Efunsetan in the film, stepped onto the carpet in a look that leaned heavily into symbolism and wore it unapologetically.

Her deep red gown hugged the body before cascading into a sweeping train, richly embroidered with gold and crimson details arranged in flame-like patterns. The corseted bodice framed a sweetheart neckline, accented by bold, wing-shaped stitching in gold and orange threads that drew the eye upward and added architectural depth.

Then came the defining moment: oversized feathered wings rising from the back of the gown in layers of red, orange, and yellow. Literal, dramatic, and fearless, the wings transformed the look from elegant to commanding — a clear visual nod to fire as power, rebirth, and intensity.

Mercy completed the ensemble with a ruby-toned statement necklace and matching earrings, keeping the jewellery close to the neckline for balance. Her beauty look stayed sharp and refined, with long dark curls, sculpted contours, bold liner, and a nude glossy lip.

She captioned the photos “Fearless, formidable, fire” — fire emoji included and the words couldn’t have been more fitting.
