Nigel Lythgoe Faces Second Sexual Assault Lawsuit Amid Paula Abdul Allegations

Days after Paula Abdul accused Nigel Lythgoe of multiple counts of sexual assault, the former “So You Think You Can Dance” judge is now facing a new lawsuit. Court documents reveal that two contestants from the 2003 all-female reality competition show “All American Girl” have filed a lawsuit against Lythgoe, alleging negligence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender violence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit claims that Lythgoe would openly swat and grope contestants’ buttocks while they were in dance costumes, with the behavior allegedly being accepted by those on set. The incidents reportedly occurred during the filming of the reality show, and the lawsuit further details unwanted sexual advances made by Lythgoe after a wrap party.

The women allege that Lythgoe took an unusual interest in one of them, insisting she ride in his car back to the studio, which led to an uncomfortable situation at his Los Angeles home where they claim to have rejected his advances. The lawsuit describes instances of attempted kissing, physical closeness, and forceful behavior by Lythgoe.

This new legal action comes in the wake of Paula Abdul’s sexual assault allegations against Lythgoe, creating a storm of controversy around the former American Idol producer. Lythgoe has vehemently denied all claims, stating they are not only false but deeply offensive to him.
