Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema made headlines at J Cole’s Dreamville Festival 2024 with his unexpected exit from the stage. The festival, which featured a star-studded lineup including SZA, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, and of course, J Cole, drew crowds of music enthusiasts to Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park in North Carolina on April 6 and 7, 2024.
During Rema’s performance on the second day of the festival, technical difficulties plagued his set, causing delayed feedback and disrupting his flow. Despite attempting to push through and entertain the audience, Rema expressed his frustration with the sound issues, stating, “There’s too many sound issues and it’s messing up my performance. I’m seriously not feeling this shitt.”
Despite his efforts to continue, the sound problems persisted, leading Rema to make the difficult decision to walk off the stage. In a final address to the crowd, he apologized, saying, “Too many sound issues, my people, I love you all my people.”
Rema’s abrupt exit sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and spectators, with many expressing disappointment over the technical difficulties that marred his performance.
