Rihanna has us all talking with her latest fashion statement and a cheeky message!
On Thursday, June 6, the “Lift Me Up” singer, 36, was spotted in New York City, looking effortlessly cool alongside her boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The pop star, who’s been teasing fans with promises of new music, made a bold wardrobe choice that seemed to say it all.
“I’m retired,” read her blue, short-sleeved T-shirt in big, bold white letters. Below, in smaller red text, it continued, “This is as dressed up as I get.” Paired with a darker blue maxi skirt, red sneakers, and a lime green purse, Rihanna looked as stylish as ever.
Rocky, 35, was right there with her, sporting a tan and brown argyle sweater and light denim jeans. The power couple, parents to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 10 months, have both hinted at Rihanna’s musical comeback.
Rihanna’s last album, Anti, dropped in 2016, and fans have been eagerly awaiting her next move. In February, a video surfaced of Rocky in Paris, where he casually mentioned that Rihanna is indeed working on new music. “She’s working on it,” he told fans with a smile.
Then, in April, while promoting her Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker, Rihanna teased a bit more about her upcoming project. She promised her new music would be worth the wait, calling her new tracks “so good.”
When asked if she thought her sons might follow in her musical footsteps, Rihanna said, “I mean, it’s up to them.” She admitted she has some tracks that could become hits and that sometimes it’s a matter of whether she keeps the songs for herself or gives them to Rocky.
But while we wait for that elusive R9 album, Rihanna isn’t slowing down. She’s expanding her empire in other exciting ways. Just this week, she announced the launch of her new haircare line.
“A new family is moving in!” she captioned the big reveal. “@fentyhair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for.”
Rihanna added, “You know how much switching my hair up matters to me. I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural — so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style ????????♀️.”
Fenty Hair will be available starting Thursday, June 13, at FentyHair.com. So while we keep our fingers crossed for new music, at least we can look forward to fabulous hair, courtesy of Rihanna herself!
