Richard Mofe-Damijo and Timini Egbuson have stepped out in Adire for the cast announcement of Funke Akindele’s new movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, and somehow, both men managed to make the same fabric feel completely different.
RMD went all in on colour, wearing a matching Adire suit that blends rich berry, deep purple and indigo tones. Geometric panels and dotted patterns run across the jacket, shirt and flared trousers, giving the look plenty of texture without losing its polished finish.
Then comes the styling. A brown cowboy hat, yellow-tinted sunglasses and dark leather loafers push the outfit away from traditional tailoring and into something much more playful. It is bold, slightly unexpected and very RMD.
Timini, meanwhile, decided that one colour story was simply not enough.
His blazer is divided into two striking halves, with navy and mustard on one side and red and gold on the other. Rather than competing with the statement jacket, he keeps the rest of the outfit relatively controlled with wide-leg navy trousers and a dark inner top.
The accessories, however, bring their own personality. A cowrie-detailed cap, round sunglasses, layered jewellery and black split-toe shoes complete the look, giving Timini’s outfit a more contemporary, street-influenced edge.
And this is exactly why the two looks work. RMD leans into the richness and heritage of Adire, while Timini pushes the fabric into a more experimental fashion space. Same textile, completely different attitude.
Both looks were styled by Zackstyling Luxury and designed by Ola Reay for the cast announcement of The Four: No One Fights Alone, the upcoming film led by Funke Akindele.
The movie brings together a major Nollywood ensemble, including Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Waje, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Uzor Arukwe, Wunmi Toriola, Ali Nuhu, Antar Laniyan, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Shoday, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun.
But before the movie even arrives, RMD and Timini have already given us something to discuss: two very different ways to make Adire look fashion-forward.
