Ryan Reynolds’ admiration for his wife, Blake Lively, and friend, Gigi Hadid, reached superhero proportions at the recent premiere of his movie, Deadpool & Wolverine.
On Tuesday, July 23, the actor re-shared a post from Vanity Fair on his Instagram Stories, showcasing Lively and Hadid’s themed outfits. Reynolds, 47, captioned the post with, “Sweet Jiminy Marvel Jesus And Mary Chain,” tagging the outlet.
Lively, 36, and Hadid, 29, coordinated their superhero-inspired looks for the premiere and an afterparty in New York City on Monday, July 22. Lively donned a custom long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder red bodysuit by Versace, while Hadid wore a custom Miu Miu SS24 RTW yellow set. Both ensembles were perfect nods to the titular comic book characters.
Lively’s premiere look was accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Ofira jewels, and a high ponytail. Hadid’s outfit included a yellow purse from Miu Miu, black pumps, a vintage Chanel necklace, and Alexis Bittar bangles.
At the afterparty, Lively stunned in a blue ruched Balmain minidress lined with red enamel roses from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, paired with red pumps. Hadid continued the superhero theme with a bright-yellow latex LaQuan Smith coat over a black bodysuit, accessorized with yellow Christian Louboutin pumps, a yellow Miu Miu Matelassé leather bag, and large gold jewelry.
Speaking with PEOPLE during the evening, Lively humorously remarked that Reynolds was “supporting” her at the premiere. She expressed gratitude for his support, adding a laugh to her statement.
The following day, Lively shared her excitement about meeting *NSYNC members JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she thanked her husband for “being the most romantic person on the planet and making all of my dreams come true last night via @deadpoolmovie.” She added, “10 year old, and also 36 year old me is sobbing.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 26.
