Shakira Surprises Coachella with New Tour Announcement and Emotional Performances

Shakira thrilled fans at Coachella with a surprise appearance, performing two songs and revealing details about her upcoming world tour.

The global superstar, known for hits like “Whenever, Wherever” and “Hips Don’t Lie,” took the stage during Bizarrap’s set to share the exciting news.

Onstage, Shakira announced that her next tour will be called the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, translating to the Women No Longer Cry World Tour. This tour marks her first since the 2018 El Dorado World Tour and is named after her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, or Women No Longer Cry.

Shakira announces her world tour at Coachella on April 12, 2024.

Following her surprise appearance, Shakira took to Instagram to express her excitement: “So stoked to finally announce that LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR is happening! Can’t wait to be back on stage partying and celebrating with my wolfpack! Dates coming up soon — register for info/pre-sale access now. Auuuuuuuuuuuuuu! #LMYNLWT”

During her performance, Shakira and Argentine producer Bizarrap performed “La Fuerte” and “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The latter song features lyrics about her 2022 breakup with longtime boyfriend Gerard Piqué and the aftermath, including his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.

In a recent interview, Shakira opened up about the song’s lyrics and her healing process after the breakup. She emphasized the importance of experiencing all stages of grief and healing at one’s own pace, rejecting any pressure to conform to others’ expectations.
