Simone Biles, 27, is embracing her G.O.A.T. nickname in style! During an interview aired on the BBC on August 1, 2024, at the Paris Olympics, Biles revealed that her new goat necklace is a nod to the “haters” who criticize her being labeled as the “Greatest of All Time.”

“I thought it would be really special if I got one made,” Biles said of the necklace. “And the haters hate it so I love that even more and it’s just a special part of me that I have here, as well as in the village I have like a stuffed goat, just to get a reminder: ‘You can go out there, you can do it, you’ve done it before, so let’s go.’ ”

On August 1, Biles won her second gold medal of the 2024 Paris Olympics and her sixth Olympic gold overall, clinching victory in the all-around final. Following her win, her teammate Jordan Chiles presented her with the sparkling goat pendant, which Biles proudly wore.

In a press conference after the competition, Biles shared, “My goat necklace is just kind of an ode, because the people love it and then some people hate it, so it’s like the best of both worlds.” She added, “At the end of the day, it is crazy that I’m in the conversation of greatest of all time athletes, because I still think I’m Simone Biles from Spring, TX, that loves to flip.”

Biles’ latest triumph adds to her already impressive record, which includes becoming the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history earlier this week with her eighth Olympic medal. She, along with her Team USA teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, also won gold in the women’s gymnastics team final on July 30, bringing her total Olympic medal count to nine.

Biles previously secured gold in the all-around competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
