Temi Nkem Gives Larabela’s Green Aso-Oke a Red-Hot Twist

Temi Nkem is making traditional Nigerian fabric look anything but predictable.

The BBNaija winner stepped out in a green Aso-Oke mini dress by Larabela, pairing its rich woven stripes with a red fringe bag and matching pointed heels. The result is a colourful look that puts Nigerian craftsmanship firmly in the spotlight.

The dress brings the heritage. Deep green, white and teal stripes run through the woven fabric, with fine gold threads adding a subtle glimmer. Gold buttons line the front, while a sculptural cut-out neckline and flared cuffs give the traditional textile a distinctly contemporary silhouette.

Then Temi turns up the colour. Her red bag features a beaded handle, oversized wooden beads and layers of fringe that bring movement to the look. Matching red heels, finished with a dark beaded ankle strap, carry the accent colour through without competing with the dress.

Red crystal earrings add another flash of colour, while her sleek updo and warm-toned makeup keep the styling polished.

What makes this combination work is the balance between heritage and attitude. The Aso-Oke brings texture and cultural significance, while the mini length, dramatic neckline and fringe accessories give it a playful edge.

Traditional fabric, modern proportions and red accessories that refuse to be ignored. Temi knows how to make the mix work.
