In a moment that underscores the global rise of Nigeria’s beauty industry, Lagos-based makeup artist Theresa Emegwara, widely known as Tesglam, has officially been confirmed by Guinness World Records for completing a remarkable 146-hour continuous makeup application marathon, setting a new global benchmark in the process.
The historic feat traces back to August 2025, when Tesglam staged her attempt during the Glam 4–144 event at Landmark Boulevard, Lagos. Over six consecutive days, totaling 146 hours, 23 minutes and 56 seconds, the artist worked tirelessly, transforming more than 200 faces and surpassing the previous 103-hour record. What unfolded was more than an endurance challenge; it became a celebration of creativity, discipline and the expanding influence of African beauty professionals on the world stage.
Throughout the marathon, the venue became a hub for creatives, models and beauty enthusiasts, while thousands followed the process digitally, turning the attempt into a community-driven experience. With the official verification now complete, Tesglam has received her Guinness World Records plaque and medal, marking the culmination of months of preparation, physical stamina and precise coordination.
Speaking after the confirmation, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth commended the achievement, noting that Tesglam’s milestone represents not only personal success but also an inspiring example for young creatives aiming to compete globally. The makeup artist herself emphasized the collective spirit behind the record, crediting her team, volunteers, models and supporters both on-site and online for making the achievement possible.
Tesglam’s historic milestone adds to the growing wave of Nigerian excellence recognized by Guinness World Records in the beauty sector, including entrepreneur and reality TV personality Anita Natacha Akide (Tacha), who in October 2025 set two records for the highest number of cosmetic makeovers completed within 8 hours and 24 hours.
