The most supercharged series: “Sky Rojo”
Netflix once again trusts the creator of La Casa De Papel by adding Sky Rojo to its catalog of Spanish series . Álex Pina offers a voyeuristic dive into the world of prostitution with his heroines Coral ( Verónica Sánchez ), Gina ( Yany Prado ) and Wendy ( Lali Espósito ), endowed with some common points with robbers dressed in a red jumpsuit. Employed at a strip club in Tenerife, the trio are determined to give themselves a better life. And it begins with revenge on Romeo ( Asier Etxeandia), the ruthless owner of the premises. Now they are on the run to escape Romeo’s henchmen. Guns, camaraderie and money, fans of La Casa De Papel shouldn’t be too out of place.

The most intriguing series: “Innocent”
When it was released on Netflix, Innocent was a huge success, settling for many weeks in the Top 3 of the most viewed content on the platform. Nothing surprising. The Spanish mini-series has two unstoppable ingredients in its recipe: a screenplay adapted from the eponymous book by Harlan Coben , genius of the detective novel. A thriller master in directing, Oriol Paulo , co-author of The Eyes of Julia series and director of El Cuerpo and The Accused . Then, starring actor Mario Casas , whose teenagers in the past remember his role in 3 meters above the sky . In Innocent , he lends his features to Matéo, a man whose past of convicted of manslaughter complicates the happy life he is trying to build.

The most glamorous series: “Alta Mar”
Halfway between a soap and a detective series, Alta Mar places its plot in an enclosed space, that is, an ocean liner that connects Spain to Brazil. Set in the 1940s, this story features two sisters who uncover disturbing family secrets following the murders of several passengers. Clearly not the best series available on Netflix but we still get carried away with ease.

The most romantic series: “The young ladies of the telephone”
Here’s a guilty pleasure that grabbed us for five seasons (the latter ended in June 2020). We follow the incredible adventures of Alba, alias Lidia, a switchboard operator for the Madrid telephone company in the 1930s. And as much to say that she always manages to find herself in a mess.

The youngest series: “Elite”
When Netflix talks up a Spanish Gossip Girl , it gives Elite. Promising during the first season, it is the disaster from the second. Yet we continue to watch the stories of these rich high school students from an upscale school in Madrid.

The most breathtaking series: “La Casa de Papel”
This is the unexpected success of Netflix, which bought the broadcasting rights for the first two seasons of La Casa de Papel , without suspecting for a moment that it would be the most watched non-English series on the platform. The pitch: a masked gang performs the most impressive heist in history, but all does not go as planned. Since then, there have been 4 parts which are available on Netflix. And the next one should follow soon.
