Charlize, KiKi & Uma Are Serving Chaos, Immortality, and Bestie Vibes in The Old Guard 2

The Old Guard 2

Before you press play on The Old Guard 2, take a breath—because Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, and Uma Thurman are here to remind you that immortal warfare comes with friendship bracelets, emotional trauma, and a little behind-the-scenes chaos.

In a recent interview, the three stars didn’t just discuss the film—they made it clear this wasn’t your typical “action sequel.” It’s more intense, more personal, and yes, more drama-filled. Charlize, our ageless warrior queen Andy, returns with a slightly messier vibe this time. She’s dealing with the minor inconvenience of possibly losing her immortality (just that), while also carrying the emotional baggage of being alive for, well, too long.

KiKi Layne is back as Nile—the newcomer still figuring out how to survive in a world where death isn’t permanent, but betrayal definitely is. She’s giving heart, hope, and a much-needed moral compass, which is ironic for someone who can’t die.

And then there’s Uma. Miss Thurman, if you’re nasty. She steps in as Discord, a mysterious wildcard whose motives are murky and whose impact is seismic. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say her entrance doesn’t exactly scream “group harmony.”

The film also picks up lingering threads from the first one: Booker’s still out in exile (and probably journaling), Quynh is back and fully in revenge mode after spending centuries underwater (imagine the rage), and the squad is up against a new enemy that could finally push them over the edge—if they don’t implode first.

But if there’s one thing we love more than sword fights and emotional flashbacks, it’s watching Charlize, KiKi, and Uma casually vibe while discussing it all. They’re clearly having fun, which makes us even more excited (and slightly afraid) for what’s coming.
