From July 8 to July 14, 2024, Shina was the only Nollywood film to make it to Netflix’s Top 10 Chart in Nigeria. The movie currently holds the ninth spot, showcasing its enduring popularity and strong connection with Nigerian viewers.
Directed by Muyiwa Adesokun and Carmen Lilian-Ike-Okoro, Shina is a gripping crime thriller that follows the journey of a Lagos taxi driver tasked with delivering a mysterious parcel to save his dying grandmother. The plot is packed with unexpected twists and turns, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
The film was produced by Feyifunmi Oginni and features a talented cast including Akin Lewis, Segun Arinze, Aleiru Idowukeji, Neo Akpofure, Immaculata Oko-Kasum, Shawn Faqua, Tope Tedela, Tolulope Adewunmi, and Preach Bassey.
For Timini Egbuson, Shina marks his debut as an executive producer. Known for his roles in popular films and TV series such as Tinsel, Dwindle, and A Tribe Called Judah—Nollywood’s highest-grossing movie to date—Egbuson also won the AMVCA for Best Actor in a Drama in 2020 for Elevator Baby.
