Trey Songz Resolves $25M Lawsuit Over Alleged 2016 Assault

Trey Songz has reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed against him last year by an anonymous woman, known as Jane Joe, who accused him of sexual assault. The incident allegedly occurred at a house party in 2016 after they met at a nightclub in Los Angeles. The lawsuit also named Atlantic Records, Trey Songz’s manager Kevin Lilies, and 300 Entertainment as defendants.

While the settlement amount has not been disclosed, Jane Joe initially sought $25 million for the mental and emotional distress caused by the alleged assault. A scheduled court hearing in September has been canceled due to the settlement, with legal documents indicating that a request for dismissal will be filed by June 10, 2024, upon the satisfactory completion of specified terms.

It is unclear if Trey Songz admitted guilt as part of the settlement. Last year, he denied the accusations on social media, stating, “Lies will never be the truth. No matter who chooses to believe such.” This is not the first time Trey Songz has faced allegations of assault, as Winter Blanco came forward last month to accuse him of assaulting her in 2018, revealing that she had chosen to remain silent for the sake of her career.
