Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen has been named in the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year final shortlist, now trimmed down to 10 from the initial 30.
Senegalese star Sadio Mane, reigning champ Mohamed Salah, and other football luminaries, including Osimhen’s Napoli teammates, join the prestigious lineup. Osimhen, riding high on a stellar season, is the frontrunner for the award, having contributed significantly to Napoli’s Scudetto victory with 26 goals in 32 league matches and an additional five goals in the UEFA Champions League.
As he recovers from a hamstring injury, the 24-year-old striker is set to be a prominent figure at the award ceremony in Marrakech on December 11.
