Whoopi Goldberg has some exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting Sister Act 3. During an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Goldberg revealed that she had received the script for the highly anticipated film.
“The script came in yesterday,” Goldberg announced to cheers and applause from The Tonight Show audience. “I really like it, but it has a whole lot of adults to go through. So, if they don’t get in its way, it could actually be pretty good.”
Goldberg then turned to Fallon and asked if he would be interested in making a cameo in the film, likening it to the iconic Batman television series where characters would stick their heads out of windows. Fallon enthusiastically agreed, saying he would do anything to be a part of Sister Act 3.
Sister Act 3 was announced to be in development at Disney+ in 2020, with Goldberg and Tyler Perry attached as producers. Perry also expressed his excitement for the project during an appearance on The View earlier this year.
“I love the idea of us making this happen, but you know, the Hollywood system moves a little slower than I’d like,” Perry said. “So we’ve got a good script. We’re off to a great start. We’re just trying to get everybody moving in the right direction so we can get it going.”
