Love was in the air and on the stage as Zendaya and Tom Holland made a stylish and heartwarming exit from London’s Duke of York’s Theatre on Thursday, May 23. The couple looked like they stepped straight out of a Shakespearean play, turning heads and sparking buzz with their stunning ensemble and undeniable chemistry.
Zendaya, the 27-year-old Challengers star, rocked a black Shakespearean dress from Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood’s Spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The dress, adorned with delicate white embellishments, was complemented by a striking brown pendant necklace. She kept her hair sleek in a bun, and added a touch of sparkle with small hoop earrings, letting her outfit do all the talking.
Hand in hand with Zendaya, Tom Holland, also 27, kept it casual but cool in a long-sleeved black T-shirt and black pants. The Spider-Man actor had just wrapped up another night playing Romeo in the West End production of Romeo and Juliet. The couple’s smiles and easy demeanor made it clear they were enjoying the moment together.
Holland’s role as Romeo was announced back in February, with director Jamie Lloyd expressing his excitement about the casting. “Tom Holland is one of the greatest, most exciting young actors in the world. It is an honor to welcome him back to the West End,” Lloyd said in a statement to Playbill.
Tom, who began his career in the West End production of Billy Elliot The Musical at age 12, shared his enthusiasm about his new role on Instagram. On May 13, he posted photos of himself with his castmates, captioning the post: “Tonight was the start of something so special. I’m beyond proud of our cast and crew who have gone above and beyond in every way. I can’t wait for the rest of the run. Tonight was truly a highlight of my career and I’m so glad I get to share it with these incredible people. Love you all and see you tomorrow.”
Despite their hectic schedules, Zendaya and Tom always find time to support each other. A source said that “they are proud of each other’s successes and totally supportive. This is a plus in their relationship making it equal. They are each caring toward the other. It’s not a case where one is caring and the other isn’t so much. They are great people and are there for the good and bad. As busy as they are, this is super important.”
