After a decade of allowing fans to live the A-list life, Kim Kardashian’s iconic mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, is gracefully bowing out. Launched in June 2014 in collaboration with Glu, the game let enthusiasts climb the social ladder through events, acting, modeling, club appearances, and even dating. Although free to play, avid users could enhance their virtual stardom by purchasing “K stars.”
In a heartfelt statement, the 43-year-old reality star expressed her gratitude to the Glu team and the dedicated players who contributed to the game’s success over the years. “This journey has meant so much to me, but I’ve realized that it’s time to focus that energy into other passions,” Kardashian shared, acknowledging the end of an era.
The game, which reached soaring heights of success, generating nearly $200 million in annual revenue a month after its 2014 launch, has now been removed from Apple and Android app stores. Users with the app still on their devices can continue enjoying its features until April 8, as indicated by a countdown timer within the app.
Kim Kardashian: Hollywood wasn’t just a solo venture; it featured appearances from Kardashian family members, including Khloé, Kourtney, and Kris Jenner. The game also welcomed other celebrities like André Leon Talley and NeNe Leakes, who made digital cameos, showcasing high-fashion avatars and adding an extra layer of glamour.
As the app bids farewell, Kardashian expressed perpetual inspiration from the community built around the game. While the virtual stardom journey concludes on April 8, the memories and impact of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood will undoubtedly endure.
