This period drama delves into the life of Bashorun Ga’a, a figure infamous in Nigerian history, during the 18th-century Oyo Empire. Bolanle Austen-Peters, known for her directorial prowess and previous successes like ‘Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti’, helms this production in partnership with Netflix.

Austen-Peters, founder of BAP Productions and Terra Kulture, Lagos, has garnered international acclaim for her contributions to Nigerian theatre and film. CNN recognized her as a trailblazer in Nigerian theatre, and Forbes Africa listed her among the most influential women in Africa.
