La Mode Entrepreneur Excellence Grant

For more than ten years, Sandrah Tubobereni, founder and creative director of TUBO, has been responsible for some of Olori Atuwatse III’s most significant style moments. From royal milestones and coronation celebrations to public appearances carrying cultural significance, their partnership has become one of the most enduring relationships in Nigerian fashion.

Now, a new TUBO Originals film offers a rare look inside that journey. Released as part of the celebrations marking Olori Atuwatse III’s 40th birthday, the film reflects on a decade of collaboration built on creativity, trust and shared vision.

At the centre of the birthday celebration is a fashion story titled Elements. Each look was designed to represent themes of power, femininity, evolution and legacy, continuing TUBO’s approach to fashion as a form of storytelling rather than decoration alone.

The film also highlights the wider significance of the relationship between designer and muse. In an industry where high-profile partnerships can shape a brand’s trajectory, Olori Atuwatse III has remained one of TUBO’s most consistent ambassadors through different chapters of life. Most recently, Tubobereni dressed the Queen Consort for the 4th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III in designs that celebrated heritage, sophistication and cultural pride.

For Tubobereni, the journey carries additional meaning. TUBO began in a bedroom in Dolphin Estate, Lagos, built from little more than determination, creativity and a vision for the modern TUBO Woman. A decade later, the brand has become synonymous with some of Nigeria’s most notable women and occasions.

The film positions the relationship between Tubobereni and Olori Atuwatse III as more than a designer-client arrangement. Instead, it presents a creative partnership that has grown alongside both women personally and professionally. Reflecting on her journey, the Olori says: “They say I’ve broken some milestones, shattered some glass ceilings. I’m looking forward to even more.”

Ultimately, the TUBO Originals series documents something fashion rarely captures so intimately: the value of longevity. Beyond standout looks and milestone events, it is a story about consistency, creative trust and a shared commitment to purpose.

After a decade of defining memorable fashion moments together, both women appear to be entering a new chapter. If the film is any indication, the story is far from over.
