Aikou Ajanaku is making a convincing case for men to move beyond the usual black, navy and grey suit.

Styled and directed by Koyin Curates, his latest look brings together an olive-gold double-breasted suit and a deep wine shirt, creating a colour combination that feels rich without trying too hard.

The tailoring does its part. Wide peak lapels, structured shoulders and patterned buttons give the jacket a classic finish, while the matching trousers keep the silhouette clean. But Aikou wears the jacket draped over his shoulders rather than through the sleeves, taking some of the formality out of the ensemble.

The wine shirt is what makes the colour story work. Its deep tone cuts through the warmth of the suit, while a matching pocket square pulls everything together without introducing another competing shade.

He keeps the rest understated with a silver ring, natural afro and neatly groomed beard. There is no need for much else when the tailoring and colours are already doing the heavy lifting.

What makes this look stand out is its balance. The suit brings structure, the colour pairing adds personality, and the styling keeps everything from feeling too stiff.

Olive gold up top, wine underneath. Aikou makes a strong case for taking more risks with menswear.
