Before the football even begins, Côte d’Ivoire is already making a statement.
The national team, affectionately known as Les Éléphants, has officially unveiled its ceremonial travel look for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It is every bit as bold, symbolic, and visually striking as you would expect from a squad carrying one of Africa’s most iconic football identities.

Arriving in Philadelphia, the team stepped out in custom-designed outfits created by Ivorian designer Ibrahim Fernandez, instantly setting the tone for a tournament where style and presence matter just as much as performance on the pitch.
The look centres on a structured jacket rendered in rich sunset tones of orange and golden yellow tie-dye. The fabric carries a textured depth that feels both artisanal and modern, elevated by sculptural tailoring, turned-back cuffs, and metallic statement buttons running down the front. The collarless silhouette adds a distinctly West African edge, grounding the design in cultural authenticity while still feeling globally relevant.
But the true focal point sits at the back.
A large, intricately embroidered elephant motif dominates the rear of each jacket, serving as a powerful tribute to the national team’s identity as Les Éléphants. It is a visual reminder of strength, unity, and legacy — themes that extend far beyond football.
The styling continues the clean, elevated aesthetic with a white wrap-style shirt underneath, featuring a soft V-neckline, paired with high-waisted white tailored trousers. The contrast between the bright, expressive jacket and the minimal base creates a balanced silhouette that feels both ceremonial and contemporary.

Designer Ibrahim Fernandez described the collection as a reflection of collective pride, saying it represents a bond between the team and its supporters — millions of people who share in the journey, the hope, and the celebration of Ivorian football identity.
The timing could not be more fitting. Côte d’Ivoire enters the 2026 World Cup as one of ten African nations competing on the global stage, carrying momentum from a new generation of talent and a renewed sense of ambition. With rising stars like Amad Diallo and Yan Diomandé, the team heads into Group E alongside Germany, Ecuador, and Curaçao, aiming to push beyond the group stage for the first time in their World Cup history.
But even before kickoff, one thing is already clear: Côte d’Ivoire has arrived in style.
