A former employee of Kanye West’s Yeezy brand and Donda Academy has filed a complaint against the rapper, alleging severe discrimination and harassment.

Trevor Phillips, the plaintiff, claims that West made disturbing remarks and engaged in harmful behaviour during his time working for the star.

Phillips, who considered West an inspiration, joined Yeezy in November 2022 and later worked at Donda Academy, where his daughter and brother attended. He alleges that West often made hateful and anti-Semitic comments in front of students, including praising Adolf Hitler and making threats towards the LGBTQ+ community.

According to the complaint, West would berate his Black employees, discriminate based on weight, and engage in bizarre and inappropriate behaviour, such as simulating masturbation during a dinner meeting.

Phillips also claims he was forced to perform dangerous electrical work in the rain and endured a public berating from West in May 2023.

The lawsuit seeks damages over $35,000 for the psychological and emotional distress Phillips experienced during his employment. This legal action follows previous lawsuits against West, including one from two former teachers at Donda Academy alleging violations of education requirements.

West has faced criticism for his behaviour in recent years, including losing deals with major brands after making antisemitic comments. The lawsuit adds to the mounting legal troubles for West, who was also recently sued for unauthorized use of Donna Summer’s song in his music project.
