From the richness of crimson velvet to the unmistakable glow of coral beads, Ifedayo Agoro and Frank Itom’s Edo traditional wedding was a visual celebration of heritage, elegance, and intentional style.
There is so much to say about the traditional ceremony of Ifedayo, fondly known as Diary of a Naija Girl and her sweetheart, Frank Itom. From the moment the festivities began, it was clear this would be a celebration layered with meaning. BellaNaija Weddings was present to capture it all, and every detail felt worthy of a pause.

Before anything else, the Edo look deserves its own moment. Frank Itom hails from Edo State, and as with many Nigerian traditional weddings, fashion became the loudest storyteller. This look honoured Benin culture unapologetically, with each element carefully chosen and deeply symbolic.
The couple appeared perfectly in sync. Ifedayo stepped out in a fully beaded crimson gown, designed with an off-shoulder neckline and a fitted silhouette that highlighted her frame. Intricate beadwork covered the entire dress, finished with layered fringe details that added movement and texture. She completed the look with an okuku — the iconic Edo ceremonial hairstyle associated with royalty, wealth, and marital status — alongside multiple layers of coral beads draped around her neck and wrists.

Frank matched her energy effortlessly in a Benin royal ensemble of his own. He wore a flowing crimson agbada detailed with gold beadwork along the edges and sleeves. Beneath it sat a crisp white inner garment, paired with a deep burgundy velvet wrapper gathered neatly at the floor. Layers of coral beads and a white traditional cap tied the look together, striking a perfect balance between tradition and regal elegance.
And this was just one of many looks the couple served during their traditional wedding ceremony. More moments are still to come, but for now, their Edo looks stand as a beautiful reminder of how culture, fashion, and storytelling come together when done with intention.
