Porsha Williams, known for her role in “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia over a year after their marriage.
The divorce was filed on Thursday in Atlanta, according to court documents obtained. Rumors online about Guobadia’s citizenship status are said to be unrelated to the split, according to a source.
Williams, 42, and Guobadia, 59, married in November 2022 in a Nigerian traditional ceremony followed by an American ceremony in Atlanta. They announced their engagement in May 2021 after a month of dating.
Williams, who has a 4-year-old daughter named Pilar from a previous relationship, recently announced her return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for its sixteenth season. She also signed an overall scripted deal with NBCUniversal for scripted project opportunities across the company’s broadcast and streaming properties. Williams first joined RHOA in its fifth season and appeared with Guobadia on the spinoff “Porsha’s Family Matters” in 2021.
