Somebody cue Burna Boy’s Last Last because we’re not sure we’ll ever recover from the fashion feast that was Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi’s traditional wedding in Dubai. Forget “just a wedding” — this was a couture masterclass stitched with meaning, history, and drama.

Temi Otedola

Two months after signing their papers, the couple gathered friends and family at the Otedola home in Dubai for a Yoruba wedding that redefined bridal style. Temi said she wanted her favourite designers to reimagine Nigerian attire through a couture lens — and the results? Breathtaking.

Temi Otedola’s first look set the stage. Zac Posen gave us an ivory gown with razor-sharp pleats, a sculptural bow, and a trailing train so dramatic it could’ve had its own movie credit. Temi’s gele was sculpted to perfection, her diamonds channeled vintage Nollywood glamour, and Eazi looked every inch the royal groom in agbada, cap, and cane. A whole heirloom portrait come to life.

Then came the colour explosion. Temi slipped into a fiery red skirt embroidered to the heavens, paired with a powder-blue corset blouse and floral rosettes. The finishing touch? A cape by Miss Sohee — couture’s reigning queen of the cape. Bold, dramatic, unapologetic.

And for the third act? Temi leaned into legacy. Lisa Folawiyo reimagined akwa ocha into a strapless, beaded gown with fringe that swayed like choreography. Coral beads stacked high, an okuku headpiece crowning her look — the entire moment was a moving tribute to Mr Eazi’s late mother, who had sent Temi inspiration before her passing. Talk about love woven into every detail.

Three looks, three stories, one couture fairytale. If fashion is a love language, Temi and Eazi just wrote poetry in Dubai.
