Gone are the “essential” white tees and mid-rise jeans other brands tout as daily musts, replaced with sleek, fashion-forward pieces worthy of an international superstar, like Rihanna’s beloved blazer dresses and collapsable shield sunglasses. For her August drop, Rihanna has created her most genius contribution to the new look of everyday wear yet: the sweatshirt blazer. Cut in heather gray jersey with a drop shoulder and an oversized belt, the piece has the bold silhouette the musician loves with the added bonus of being as comfortable—and washable!—as a hoodie. In the look book, the blazer is styled with coordinating jersey trousers with a split seam on the side, another take on comfort dressing that doesn’t sacrifice style.
Complementing the jersey pieces—and, yes, there are also proper sweatshirts with split side seams in the collection—is a range of slinky knitwear pieces in black, seafoam, and gray that evoke Rihanna’s best red carpet looks. In a continuation from her last drop, the now-signature Fenty double-label blazer is available in pale pink satin.
