During his return to Lagos, popular American streamer and digital creator Kai Cenat met with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lagos House, Marina, while continuing progress on his $5 million education initiative for children in the Makoko community.

The Governor welcomed Cenat on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, noting that the visit offered a chance to hear the creator’s perspective on Lagos. Cenat expressed admiration for the city’s creativity, energy, and resilience, highlighting the vibrant spirit of its people. This marks Cenat’s second visit to the state.

The focus of his trip, however, remains the transformative education project he pledged during his 2024 visit. Designed to provide quality, free education to children from Makoko, the initiative has undergone key updates to ensure its sustainability. The permanent school location has been moved to nearby Yaba due to the challenges of Makoko’s floating terrain.

The project is being developed in partnership with Enko Education, with Banwo & Ighodalo providing legal advisory services to safeguard long-term operations. Cenat has also established the Kai Cenat Foundation Inc. to manage the project’s funding and operations.

Cenat’s commitment signals a major investment in Lagos’ future, demonstrating the power of creator-led philanthropy in bridging access to education for underserved communities.
