After a press tour filled with bold, shape-shifting style moments, Anne Hathaway saved one of her most fitting fashion statements for last.

At the London premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2, the actress stepped out in a striking Versace gown marking her first look from the house during the film’s whirlwind promotional run. And in a full-circle moment, she wore it alongside none other than Donatella Versace herself.

The gown reimagined classic tailoring through a distinctly sensual lens. Featuring a strapless silhouette, the look paired a rich purple velvet skirt complete with a dramatic slit with a sheer corseted bodice. Details like a black silk collar, crystal buttons, and a jewel-encrusted neckline subtly referenced traditional menswear, while maintaining a refined, feminine edge.

Styled by Erin Walsh, the accessories were intentionally minimal: diamond hoop earrings and sleek black leather sandals, allowing the craftsmanship and structure of the gown to take centre stage.

The moment also marked a reunion between Hathaway and Donatella Versace, whose creative partnership has defined some of the actress’s most memorable fashion eras. From front-row appearances to starring in the brand’s campaigns, Hathaway’s relationship with Versace peaked in the mid-2020s—cementing her status as a modern muse for the house.

That era signaled a shift in her style, one that has since evolved into something more daring and experimental. Throughout the Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour, Hathaway has embraced a wide spectrum of looks, from high-shine metallics to romantic ruffles and bold, thematic colour stories.

Closing the tour in Versace felt intentional, a nod to her fashion history, while reaffirming her ability to continuously reinvent it.

With upcoming roles in major productions like The Odyssey, The End of Oak Street, and Verity, one thing is certain: whether on screen or on the red carpet, Anne Hathaway’s fashion narrative is far from finished.
