British-Nigerian rap heavyweight Dave is officially bringing his The Boy Who Played the Harp tour to Nigeria for the very first time, with back-to-back headline shows set for October 16 and 17 at the iconic Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos. And yes, this marks his first-ever headline performances in the country.

There’s something special about this one already. A British-Nigerian artist closing out a global tour in Lagos? That full-circle moment is loud. From Europe to North America, and now landing in one of Africa’s most culturally electric cities, Dave is wrapping up a tour that has already defined a new chapter in his career.

The Lagos shows also land at a time when the city is very much in its cultural renaissance era. With the renewed spotlight on the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts formerly the National Theatre — Lagos continues to position itself as a global stage for music, fashion, and live entertainment. And Dave stepping into that space feels like a meeting point between heritage and global sound.

For context, Dave has quietly become one of the most important voices in UK music today. Three consecutive No.1 albums, multiple BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello win, and a catalog that blends storytelling, introspection, and cultural commentary in a way that has shaped a whole generation of listeners. So bringing that live energy to Lagos isn’t just another tour stop, it’s a statement.

The The Boy Who Played the Harp tour has already made stops across Australia, Europe, and North America, with additional dates in South Africa before heading to Nigeria. And now, Lagos gets the closing chapter.
