Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is clearly not interested in playing it safe.
For the latest Big Brother Naija Sunday live show, the host stepped out in a custom Ugo Monye look that pushed traditional Nigerian menswear into more experimental territory.
A flowing sky-blue tunic came with dramatically wide sleeves, while a long navy textured panel added structure through the front and finished in a sharp burgundy point.
But the real statement was below the waist. A full, pleated floor-length skirt featured bold blue, teal and burgundy chevrons, creating a striking contrast between the fluid silhouette and geometric pattern.
Ebuka finished the look with a navy velvet cap, dark aviators and a long gold chain carrying a ram-head pendant. A plane in the background only added to the larger-than-life mood.
The outfit is another example of how Nigerian menswear can move beyond the expected without losing its cultural identity.
And if anyone was going to make that argument on live television, Ebuka was always a good bet.
